Nomination & Election Postponed - May 13 Meeting Canceled

Wednesday, April 29, 2020
Every three years, officers are nominated and elected for this union, typically it happens at the monthly Union Meeting held in May but this year with the disruption caused by COVID-19 the nominations will be postponed tentatively until August. I know we have many members that are an asset to this union and would like to take on a bigger role and election time is when you can take that next step. I ask all those who decide to run for an officer's position, be ready to give 100% effort when you win and do not be discouraged if you are not elected, just continue to be involved any way you can.

The May union meeting has been canceled but the local has held Executive Board meetings by video to continue to conduct the necessary business of this local. We will start having our monthly union meetings as soon as we are permitted to have large gatherings.

I will make every effort to post more general information on the website to keep everyone up to date on the happenings of your local union and the companies you work for.

To date we have only had 1 member test positive out of roughly 1400 members, so please continue to be careful to keep you and your family virus free. Stay focused on your task at hand even with the many distractions going on around us, safety is even more important now than it ever has been.
