The pandemic has forced so many things to be cancelled for everyone. But nothing can stop the desire of people to lend a hand to help their neighbors. United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania invites you to join us in giving back to our community during a very special (and safe) week of volunteer activities.
Why volunteering matters now.
As you know, the events of this year have been devastating for so many. United Way partner agencies that work to meet basic needs and improve quality of life have been hit doubly hard - overwhelmed by demand and unable to perform normal fundraising. They need our help, and we're giving you the opportunity to add your energy and passion to the effort.
Please encourage your friends, family and coworkers to sign up - individually or with a group - for one of the dozens of volunteer opportunities during our Week of Caring, October 2 - 10. There are many roll-up-your-sleeves, engaging volunteer opportunities as well as virtual volunteer activities for people who would feel more comfortable giving back that way.
It will be fun and rewarding to get out and do something positive for the community!
P.S. Be sure to share your volunteer experience on your social channels by using the hashtags, #UnitedWayCares, #ChangeMakersUnite and tag @unitedwayswpa.
