Glenn Camp and I want to take a moment to say Thank You to ALL our brothers and sisters who are members of IBEW 29 and work at Duquesne Light.
The storm that hit us at the beginning of the week forced many of you to work long hours, both day and night, in dangerous conditions. When a storm hits, T&D usually gets all the credit. We want to also acknowledge all the other members who play an important role in supporting them both directly and indirectly. Without the support of all the different departments (everyone supports in one way or another) T&D would not be able to do their job as well. Glenn and I both worked in T&D for a couple of years in the early 1980s, so we understand what a hard and dangerous job it can be, especially during a storm. We also understand the sacrifice your families make during these times. So again, thank you for a great job in restoring power safely.
I have many friends, neighbors, and family members that have reached out to me and wanted to pass along their gratitude to the members of IBEW 29 for their professional and courteous behavior during these trying times this past week. To my knowledge, you have all met the high standard of the IBEW in both safety and professionalism. This is something every one of you should be proud of and I know we are very proud as well.
I wish we could give each of you a handshake and a pat on the back for a job well done.
