COVID-19 Spikes in Allegheny County

Tuesday, July 7, 2020
Message from Business Manager Kenn Bradley

With the recent spike in cases in Allegheny County, it doesn't appear that COVID-19 is going away as soon as we would like, so we must continue to fight it together and for each other. We must continue to wear mask as per the CDC guidelines to protect each other and our families. If you care about your family and the people you work with the best way to protect them is by following the guidelines all the time!

It's easy to say the reaction has been over blown to this virus, it's human nature to say to yourself that it won't happen to me. Not wearing a mask is no different than driving down the highway with your parents or grandparents and texting while you drive, sooner or later you will crash and everyone may not survive but if you don't text while driving you will have a much better chance of not crashing. If you don't wear a mask you have a much better chance of getting the virus and passing it on to the people that are the closest to you.Protect your loved ones and set the example by being a leader and wearing your mask.

The amalgamation with IBEW local 272 has been completed which gives us 10 new members who are still working at Bruce Mansfield's environmental pond.

Union dues that are currently at 1.25% of your monthly wage is expected to decrease in either August or September of this year to 1% of your monthly wage. We will continue to manage your dues money as efficiently as possible but at the same time using it to give our members the best representation as we can.

I want to wish all members and their families a happy, safe and COVID free 4th of July. Also I want to thank the members for their hard work and continued professionalism during these trying times with COVID-19.
